Classic black dungas in 100% organic denim-weight cotton twill which is hardwearing, thick, and an amazing quality which softens beautifully with wear!
What's the deal with Erro!? So Ismail made us some beautiful dungas in our new Heavy Twill fabric which we've been using for Atlas, but accidentally followed the pattern for our Originals instead! So the result is lots of beautiful dungas in amazing fabric and the same style, but they're just not as baggy as our Atlas were! It also means that these and the Pink ones only go up to our old sizing (XXS-XXL) as this is the current range of Atlas.
Erro are the same fit as our Originals, Umi, and Limited Editions but just in this slightly thicker fabric. They don’t have any stretch so will be closer in fit to our most recent Limited Editions, but bear in mind the fabric is thicker so they may hang and fit slightly different (but this shouldn’t be too noticeable, and you'd generally go for your normal size - unless you want a really baggy look, in which case size up!)
We've included the size conversion to our old sizing too, and a visual size chart at the end of the photos. Check our skin measurement chart above to find your size.
Erro has adjustable tie straps, chest and hip pockets and generous cut which is roomy at the hips for a relaxed look and comfortable fit. We've tapered the ankles slightly and they come in two leg lengths (R which is 75cm and L which is 80cm inseam) so they can comfortably be rolled up depending on your height!
100% handmade by Ismail and the team in their factory in Northern India - you will be able to check which tailor made your piece by checking the label in the ankle and finding them on our tailor directory.

I really wanted to love these. They’re the second pair of Lucy and Yak’s I’ve tried, but it looks like this brand just isn’t for me. The first pair I tried was the Umi’s in an S. I’m 5’7, 29inch waist, 37.5 inch hips. I couldn’t get into them properly because the legs were too tight. Customer service (which was really great) advised me to try an M, but as the Umi were out of stock I ordered these instead. I’m guessing it must be my proportions, but they’re just not working for me. There’s a lot of spare fabric around the lower part of the hips around the sides and front, but at the same they are too short in the crotch, which is not a problem I’ve ever had as I actually have a short torso. I’m sorry but the fabric isn’t for me either - it’s super hard and irritating. That coupled with the excess fabric has led to chafing between my thighs - again not a problem I usually have. The lack of any sort of stretch doesn’t really work in dungarees - whatever length I tie the straps they end up being both too short (digging into my shoulders) or too long depending on if I’m sitting or standing. I’ve decided to hang on to them because they were covered in cat hair as soon as I took them out of the packaging, and I’m hoping that some fabric softener might help. The quality is great though and delivery was super quick. I wish I could give a more positive review!
I was bought these dungarees as a gift, and I asked for these because I have a pair of the Original Corduroys in a 10R (S30”) and the fit is great, they are quite roomy on me and very easy to move in, big enough to have layers underneath in the cooler weather. However with these, even taking into account the thicker, non-stretch fabric, the lower half felt like a whole size smaller. They were fine for walking or standing in, but impossible to sit or squat or kneel in comfortably, almost impossible to achieve at all, and as I wanted them for gardening and outdoor work, I really needed them to be easy to move about in. (The top part fitted a little more snugly than the Originals but it was fine.) I thought that even with the fit being a little more snug they would still be a good fit, so I was a bit disappointed to have to ask for an exchange. It’s not a big deal obviously but still a little annoying. Hopefully the 12R will fit better and then I’ll be happy! The item itself was great; well made and the fabric was thick and felt really durable, exactly what I’m after.
My dungarees have just arrived and they are more than perfect. Took a long time choosing and read a lot of reviews but the right choice for my first pair. I'll be back for more. Thank you so much for making my day.
I ordered these Erros after struggling with the fit of the Colorado Cargo Dungas. I am 6ft tall and typically wear a size 14L in jeans.
When I tried the Colorados I ordered a size L TALL (Chest 103, Waist 86.4 & Hip116cm) they were much too tight across my hips.
The sizes listed for these Erros say that these same measurements (Chest 103cm, Waist 86.4cm & Hips 116cm) are actually an XL in this style? As these measurements in the Colorado were too tight for me I was confused by the sizing, so I went up to a XXL 32. They have just arrived and they are FAR too big for me which is quite disappointing, but the fabric and style is really lovely. So unfortunatly yet again I'll be sending this pair back, however I am very hopeful that third time lucky they might fit!
I think in general these Erros seem more suitable for anybody with curves than the Colorados are.
I love, love, love the fit of these ‘Erro’ dungarees. When I got L&Y’s email I thought, do I need them? But I ordered them anyway and discovered; yes, yes I did.
I have the black heavy cotton Atlas style (my all time favourite Lucy and Yaks) as well as a few pairs of cord Originals. But I’m so pleased I got these too. I ordered my usual Originals size (whereas I size down in Atlas) and find they have that great, baggy around the hips fit of the originals but in the easy-to-wear, goes-with-everything heavy cotton. The best bits of my favourite dungas, combined.
Well done, Ismail! Your mistake is a masterpiece.
