I ordered a size or 2 down (I don't remember) and I am IN LOVE with these! They're so gorgeous and the fit is great. I am plus size and these are so flattering with a black crop top or crop roll neck. The waistband is still a bit long but that just makes them comfy and flattering. Please don't get rid of these 🥺 would recommend people to size down a size or 2.
These are beautiful, I originally purchased the medium/L which is what I buy in solid colour alexas, the print means these really don’t look good if the waistband is stretched when on so exchanged (easily!) for large/L.
I’m removing a star because the fit of these is so different to previous alexas - I’m 6ft1 so the high waistband suits me brilliantly but it is on the cusp of being too high and there is still considerable room in the crotch. If you are of average height or have a short torso these would be impossible to wear.
Still not totally sold on the new fit but they do look AMAZING with a belt and excellent quality as always.
First I wanna say the pattern is GORGEOUS
and the weight/texture of the pants are great!! I was so excited when I got the email that these were back in stock!! The fit, sadly, does not compliment my body type.
I briefly looked at the reviews before buying and saw to size down, so I bought these in a Small, and I'm still swimming in these pants. I'm 5'4", 28-30 inch waist, normally a US 8 or 10 depending on the brand. The size chart would put me in a Medium. I'm wondering if the XS would fit better in the hips/crotch/thigh area. Idk how I should read the size charts from here on out lmao.
[I wonder if adding measurements of the actual garments (like flat across the waist/hips/etc) would help people with future purchases? Especially because every garment has a different fit. This is the second item I've ordered where I've looked at the size chart, ordered a size down either because of reviews or completely by accident (cause I read the chart wrong), and was still left wondering if 2 sizes down would've fit better once said item arrived. (First order was a pair of dungarees in the "new fit" - they have huge hip curves in the garment that I need to fix/straighten out.)]
I've never bought L&Y trousers before so I can't compare this new fit to the old fit, but this design is not short torso friendly. If I wear them where they're comfy on my waist, the waistband hits just under my chest/top surgery scars. If I lower the band down and bend over, there's a huge pocket of crotch fabric that puffs out. I could fold the waistband over, but then it doesn't look as nice.
I'm keeping them because they're cute and because I've waited for them to come back in stock. I might try the XS and just give this pair to a friend, or maybe I can alter them since I know how to sew!
I still love and support y'all, and I still love the items I've bought from the site!! I'm just hoping I can figure out how to navigate this size chart in the future! 💙
I love Alexas and I'd been waiting for these as my previous pair had the elastic fault. The new design feels like the elastic has a more sturdier design which should hopefully prevent any faults. However the rise on these is too high and the elastic too wide....they come up to my boobs and sit oddly. I'm keeping them as I love the pattern. The size chart is out ...I measure a 36 waist which I think put me in XL....I've always gone for M in Alexas and glad I did as the XL would have completely swamped me.
Thanks so much for leaving us a review, we really appreciate the feedback on these! We are sorry to hear the Alexas aren't fitting as you'd like. We will happily pass this feedback onto our design team for future considerations. We will also take a look at the sizing chart and make sure this is double checked!
If you did decide to send these back to us, let us know and we can help with the returns process.
I must be one of the few people that these pants fit really well. I'm even a wheelchair user and they never go past my lower ribcage when sitting which I always have problems with with a lot of high waisted pants nearly touching my boobs. I will warn anyone to size down from their original size in alexas, the pants will fit you slimmer as a result but you won't be overwhelmed by fabric and waistband than if you go your usual size. Beautiful pattern and colourful, hopefully the dye won't transfer too much as the warning label has said can happen. Only time will tell.
I am a size 18-20 in pants and ordered the L/R for reference, old alexas I would order a XL/R. I agree with people saying they fit more like kia now. Such a shame since many people seem disappointed by the new fit, myself not included but be warned before thinking of purchasing.
