Addison Jeans: ORGANIC TWILL - Josey Posey

The print/colour of these is so gorgeous, I had to give them a go. I tried two sizes - w24 and w26.

I have a couple of the old fit Addisons, and find the old w26 is about the same size all over as the new w24 - almost.

I couldn't work out why the w24 looked so bad on me in the new fit. They gave me a very bulbous looking mid section. Then I worked it out - they are *almost* the same size as the old 26 all over, but they are shorter in the crotch. This means that (on my body, anyway) they don't sit on the waist and curve out at the hips, rather they kind of bulge out around the stomach.

The w26 were a better length on the crotch, but too big all over really. I decided to send them back, and pick up a second hand pink pair instead for a similar vibe, but better look overall.

Something I've found across pretty much all of L&Y's new fits is that they tend to be a bit too short for me (I'm 5'6"), and they tend not to fit a traditional hourglass shape as well as they used to - they are more suited to 'apple' shapes, with extra fabric around the stomach.

Something else to note is that these were quite a bit darker IRL than they looked on the screen.

Overall, it's a bit of a shame that the new fit means the trousers have lost a bit of their original character and vibe. Having said that, if I loved the print enough, I would just size up and wear a pair that is a bit too big.

Also, I do think the addition of the elastic panels is a nice touch, and does make these more comfortable and practical. Definitely one for people who found the waist on the old ones too constricting, and found the old fit too long.

First pair of Addisons and they’re sooo comfy once you’ve figured out your size. I wear a size 10R in corduroy originals, 10L in LE originals and Eastons and I have a 27/28” waist and wear 28” Cole’s old and new (the new ones being more comfy/slightly looser). In the end I’ve gone with a size 30R in these the 28” was far too small, and I still had enough length to do a summery turn up in these in a regular length. The pattern is really beautiful.

I love this pattern so much but had to return. I have these trousers in black and they fit wonderfully, but the same size in this pattern is a completely different fit. Smaller waist and tighter fit on the hips.

These are SO CUTE and I wish I could keep them but they are not true to size. :( I am a US 10/12 and ordered the size the site recommends (UK 14) but the waist is way small. If I can't pawn these precious pants off to a friend I will have to return.
