Embroidery, surface embellishment & tufting
Daisy’s upcycling processes follow the concept of adding value to existing garments and creating totally unique pieces, instead of letting unnecessary textile waste end up in landfill. Using visible mending techniques followed by an appliqué of beaded or hand embroidered patches, she discourages the mindset of garments being single-wear, and instead gives tired clothes a new lease of life.
Daisy has a degree in Embroidered Textiles from The Glasgow School of art and is always experimenting with new upcycling methods. Currently, her focus lies on machine tufting and trying to bring this practice into fashion, by creating statement tufted patches that can cover a variety of imperfections or simply just give an older garment a fresh look.
