Buyback is the latest addition to our Re:Yak Network, joining our thriving Facebook Marketplace, Re:Yak workshops and other initiatives (you can check them all out here).
The aim is to keep Yaks in circulation far beyond the lifespan of your typical piece of clothing, while making it easier to refresh your wardrobe, and giving you a little perk in the form of a voucher! All you need to do is pop into your nearest Lucy & Yak shop.
The scheme is available at all of our stores - we’re super excited to grow our Re:Yak network and make it easier than ever for people to get involved.
Here’s how it works:
Terms & Conditions
Every voucher will have a £50 minimum spend attached e.g. £20 voucher for a pair of dungarees with £50 minimum spend.
The voucher must be redeemed within 6 months of the receipt.
Customers will receive one voucher per product. For example, if you brought back x4 pairs of dungarees, you would get x4 £20 vouchers (with £50 minimum spend attached to each).
Clean tights, socks, hair accessories & underwear bottoms will be accepted for recycling but we do not offer a voucher in exchange for these products.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long are the vouchers valid for?
The voucher must be redeemed within 6 months of receipt.
Can you use multiple vouchers in one transaction?
Vouchers are limited to one per transaction, with a minimum spend of £50
Is there a limit on how many Yaks I can bring back?
There’s no limit on how many Yaks you can bring back, and you’ll get a voucher for each item you return - win, win!
Does the voucher you get reflect the garment condition?
Nope! The price is only reflected in the type of Yaks you are returning. Eg. a pair of dungarees vs. a belt.
Why do I have to wash my Yaks?
This is for the safety of our store staff as they will be handling the items.
Is it just dungarees?
As long as the item is from Lucy & Yak, we’ll accept it!
Why is there a £50 minimum spend?
This is a brand new scheme for us, and at this stage we don’t know what percentage of the products returned will need to be recycled. This will cost us a lot to process, so in order for us to offer this to everyone, for any condition, we have added the £50 minimum spend. If your Yaks are in great condition and you would usually sell them elsewhere for more, then this scheme may not be for you. For us this is another way to broaden our Re:Yak offering, to keep clothes on people and out of landfill. Make sure you check out our Facebook Marketplace, Depop & Ebay for even more ways to Re:Yak!
Will this ever be online?
We are looking at how we can open this up to more regions and online but these things take time!
Can I post my Yaks to a store?
At the moment our stores can’t handle deliveries from customers but we are looking at how we can offer this to more regions in the future – watch this space!
Is this initiative still available through Beyond Retro?
Yes, you can return any Yaks to Beyond Retro stores with more information here.
