At Lucy & Yak we believe to create the highest quality clothing we can so that they last a lifetime as well as making it our responsibility to keep our products in circulation for longer.

Here’s some of the ways in which we work to keep our products on you and out of landfill, while allowing you to access our products at different price points too.

Re:Yak Buyback

The aim is to keep Yaks in circulation far beyond the lifespan of your typical piece of clothing, while making it easier to refresh your wardrobe, and giving you a little perk in the form of a voucher! All you need to do is pop into your nearest Lucy & Yak shop.

The scheme is available at all of our stores - we’re excited to grow our Re:Yak network and make it easier than ever for people to get involved.

How does it work

Return

Bring back and L&Y item to your local L&Y store.

Please make sure you wash them first.

Reward

For every item you'll return, we'll give you a voucher to spend online or in store.

Recycle

Don't worry! Even if your clothes are too damaged to sell, we'll handle the recycling.

A thriving community, this is the space where you can buy, sell and trade your Yaks with others. Give your Yaks a new lease of life by passing them on to someone else, while also picking up the Yaks you’ve had your eyes on for less.

In person sales where we sell Yaks with minor issues or defects that are still totally wearable (and loveable!). We have held them all around the UK and will continue announcing new dates and locations, so keep your eyes peeled on our social channels for the next event near you.

Terms and Conditions

Every voucher will have a £50 minimum spend attached e.g. £20 voucher for a pair of dungarees with £50 minimum spend. The voucher must be redeemed within 6 months of the receipt.

Customers will receive one voucher per product. For example, if you brought back x4 pairs of dungarees, you would get x4 £20 vouchers (with £50 minimum spend attached to each).

Clean tights, socks, hair accessories & underwear bottoms will be accepted for recycling but we do not offer a voucher in exchange for these products.

  • How long are the
    vouchers valid for?
  • Can you use multiple vouchers
    in one transaction?
  • Is it just
    dungarees?
  • Is there a limit on how
many Yaks I can bring back?
  • Does the voucher you get
    reflect the garment condition?
  • Why do I have to
    wash my Yaks?
  • Why is there a £50
    minimum spend?
  • Will this ever
    be online?
  • Can I post my
    Yaks to a store?

The voucher must be redeemed within 6 months of receipt.

Vouchers are limited to one per transaction, with a minimum spend of £50

As long as the item is from Lucy & Yak, we’ll accept it!

There’s no limit on how many Yaks you can bring back, and you’ll get a voucher for each item you return - win, win!

Nope! The price is only reflected in the type of Yaks you are returning. Eg. a pair of dungarees vs. a belt.

This is for the safety of our store staff as they will be handling the items.

This is a brand new scheme for us, and at this stage we don’t know what percentage of the products returned will need to be recycled. This will cost us a lot to process, so in order for us to offer this to everyone, for any condition, we have added the £50 minimum spend. If your Yaks are in great condition and you would usually sell them elsewhere for more, then this scheme may not be for you. For us this is another way to broaden our Re:Yak offering, to keep clothes on people and out of landfill. Make sure you check out our Facebook Marketplace, Depop & Ebay for even more ways to Re:Yak!

We are looking at how we can open this up to more regions and online but these things take time!

At the moment our stores can’t handle deliveries from customers but we are looking at how we can offer this to more regions in the future – watch this space!
