Lucy & Yak Joins Fair Wear

We’re really excited to share some big news: Lucy & Yak is officially a member of Fair Wear. This is a big milestone for us, and we’re proud to take this next step in ensuring we continue to make our clothes in a way that’s fair, transparent, and respectful to the people who make them.

Fair Wear is a multi-stakeholder initiative that advances workers’ rights across global supply chains by enabling human rights and environmental due diligence to become part of everyday business practice. Their vision is one we strongly align with: a world where workers’ rights are realised, power imbalances in global supply chains are rebalanced, and responsible business is built into everyday decision-making.

All supply chain actors, from workers and factories to brands, civil society and others play an active role in meaningful human rights and environmental due diligence. When done well, this goes beyond reducing risk and creates lasting improvements in workers’ lives.

What does this mean in practice?

Enhanced human rights due diligence across our supply chain

• Worker voice programmes, so the people making our clothes can speak up safely

• Clear action plans where improvements are needed

• Public transparency, including reports on how we’re doing (the good and the work still to do)

Lucy & Yak has always been about people first. From the beginning, we’ve believed that clothes should be made with care, kindness, and respect - and this membership helps us strengthen that commitment in a meaningful way. Fair Wear’s Code of Labour Practices will be fully incorporated into our existing Responsible Sourcing Policy. This code is based on internationally recognised labour standards and applies to all workplaces where Lucy & Yak products are manufactured.

We’ll be working closely with our suppliers to make sure there’s a shared understanding of these labour standards and what they mean in practice. Most importantly, we remain committed to prioritising long-term relationships with our suppliers as forging strong relationships means that we can support one another in sustainable implementation of decent working conditions for everyone involved in making our clothes.

This is just one part of our journey, and we’re proud to be taking it alongside Fair Wear. Find out more about Fair Wear and all of their incredible work at here.
