AKARA BAKERY
Our team headed to Glasgow to catch up with Akara Bakery, based in Denistoun. Lewa (she/her), the founder of Akara, started her own bakery after becoming disappointed with bland wedding cakes. there was a need to create beautiful and flavourful cakes and Lewa was just the person to do it. We caught up with Lewa and her team, hearing about the community of Denistoun, the challenges of starting your own bakery and the perfect recipe for building a great team.

CRAIL POTTERY
We were lucky enough to venture to Crail Pottery, in Crail, the east nook of Fife. A truly beautiful, serene place with the sea air filling your lungs. We met up with Sarah, co-owner of Crail Pottery whose parents started the business back in the 1960s and it's been in the family ever since. We heard from Sarah and the team about why they love being potters, their Crail community and why they feel so lucky to be from such a special place.

CUTE BUT DEADLY
We headed to Edinburgh, where it was time to get glam at Cute But Deadly nail salon. We pulled up a chair at the nail bar and heard about all of the joy and the challenges that come from running your own salon. A salon that welcomes everyone. Sara and her team hear it all, holding the hands of their clients as they hear about new homes and heartbreaks, whilst giving them the nails of their dreams.
