I really wasn't sure about the shape of these culottes at first - it's not a shape I have worn for years, and it just didn't shout out to me at first. But (as often happens) I saw pictures of a few people in the L&Y Facebook group, and thought they looked gorgeous. Also, I think the print is one of the most beautiful ones I've seen - the fabric is stunning. So I decided to give them a go.
I am about 5'6"; my waist and hip sizes fall pretty much in between size 8 and 10. Going by the size chart, I bought an S. They are perfect around the waist and hips, and they are a good, cropped length on me, so I would say they fit true to size. I wear the same size as in Chucks and Obregon. The very loose cut and light fabric make them perfect for the heatwave, but unlike some other clothes (like dresses that can be worn with tights and a cardi), these are not really easy to layer, so they are great for Summer, but lose a star as they are not versatile to style for any other seasons, so they won't get as much wear as other seasonal purchases.
