Dana - Mom Twill Jeans in Estelle Print

This is my first pair of L&Y jeans (light wash) so I don't know what the 'old' Dana jeans used to be like. I'm a size 4R in L&Y and a size 6 elsewhere, I read all the reviews and decided to try a W24 and W26. The W24 is perfect on the waist and legs but tight on the hips, the W26 is huge on the waist and falls off my body. There are two main issues with these jeans - they're 100% cotton with no stretch and the waist to hip ratio is all over the place. Based on human anatomy, your hips will almost always be larger than your waist, not the other way round. The measurements of these jeans don't reflect this, and sizing up will only give you a much wider waist. This could easily be rectified by adding 2% elastane to the fabric, to give some stretch over the hips, as well as increasing the hip area by 1 or 2 centimetres. I will return the W26 and hope the W24 will stretch around the hips with usage, as I bought them on sale combined with a ReYak voucher, so they are very cheap.

I am a size 40 (EU size), which would be size 12 UK . I ordered one dana jeans in a size up (size 14 UK) based on the comments and it doesnt feel like a mom fit, and barely fits me. I ordered another one ine size 12 (which is supposed to fit me based on the sizing chart) but wayyyy too small. It's very disappointing as the sizing seems inconsistent : i own a pair of Dana that I bought second hand and the 12 UK size did fit me great. I also struggled with the addison pants :( please fix your sizing issues

Bought these jeans in the blue (size10) a few years ago and loved them. However after dropping down a size after having my son I thought I’d get a replacement pair in the black. I got the 8 and could barely get them over my thighs, when I tried the 10 again it was too loose on the waist but skin tight on the legs and fully flattened my bum. I’d be a bit thicker in these areas but nothing very extreme so surprised about the fit.

I’ve always liked L&Y for the room they give you in the thigh/bum area and especially with a mom jean, you expect it to be roomier rather than fit like a skinny Jean. I was really disappointed the sizing didn’t accommodate that anymore. Noticed the same issue with shorts I bought in the same order which I’d also previously owned in the size up.
Also noticed the denim felt a bit thinner than my old pair, really hope the old sizing and quality comes back because it used to be great!
