Cypress Green Obregons in size S
When barrel leg trousers started springing up everywhere, I really wasn't sure about them, but as is often the case, the more i saw them, the less 'strange' the shape looked to me, and the more open-minded I became about trying them. What really convinced me was people sharing their own pics online. In those pics, the Obregons appear to sit less dramatically and be more wearable.
This is definitely the case IRL - for me, anyway. They are still a statement shape, and definitely more dramatic than the Freddies (which I think are probably the most 'entry level' of L&Y's barrel leg trousers!) or even the Beaus.
But they are extremely wearable, they look cool, the elastic waist is comfortable and has a good amount of stretch.
Also, these are probably one of the higher quality pieces I have bought from L&Y in recent times. The fabric feels fantastic and much harder wearing than the current Chuck fabric (it has an almost imperceptible sheen to it, and isn't as soft as the Chucks. It is still really comfortable, but I predict will hold up much better in the wash). The construction is good, and they are well-made - they feel much more like some of Lucy & Yak's older pieces in terms of quality. All in all, a great piece!
