I bought a pair of these on sale online. When they arrived, they were a lovely fabric and shape, but really tight and the zip was dodgy (could see a kink in it before I'd even unzipped them to try them on. It then wouldn't unzip properly/zip back up). I'd bought another pair of trousers in the same size at the same time which had come through too big, so I took both to a store to try sizes on in person.
The other pair I got a size down in, which I'm wearing now and are delightful. Sadly, there were no other Dana jeans to try on in store.
I tried on a Brooke pair as an alternative as I was told they're a similar style (one size up from the size I'd bought of Dana jeans online which was too small). These absolutely swamped me. I could fit my entire hand sideways between my stomach and the waistband, but trying a size down from that was again too small. Fairly sure my entire hand is more than 2 inches wide, but there we go.
Not sure what's going on with L&Y sizing, but I came away feeling a bit frustrated as it's so hard to find clothes that fit based on size labels, seeing as there's little correlation between the number of inches around they claim to be and the size they are in reality.
Such a shame as both pairs of jeans were great and I'd have been happy to keep either - provided I could've found a pair that fit (without trying on every individual pair in the store and the storeroom).
