Beautiful shorts. Love the floral print and lightweight fabric, especially for summer. Unfortunately, the elastic is flimsy, which makes the pockets unusable for something like your phone or keys. Weighted objects like these cause the waistband to sag down.. Truly an unfortunate design flaw for an otherwise lovely item.
So soft and comfortably light and perfect for summer
I bought these on a whim thinking they'd be comfy as heck if nothing else due to their length. I'm a big fan of the Charlie and Chuck styles, so I figured a style called 'Carlos' was probably in the family. These are great! I got in the indigo denim (which I love and have none of in my wardrobe) and the weight is lovely for summer. I wear my normal size in Chuck/Charlie which is an M and I wear a UK14 on the bottom. The length is just below knee, which makes them fun to style (you can go 90s skater or more dainty pedal pusher). I'm eyeing another pair - such a win, L&Y!
I purchased the Eden top in red as a layering piece for some button up shirts I've purchased from L&Y this year (Archer & Alfie). Overall, it serves this purpose. The length is great, scoop is appropriate. The fabric is light - much lighter than the cropped tanks last year (I believe called Josy?). The red was less vibrant in person than expected. Due to the lighter fabric and fitted style, I don't find it particularly flattering on its own (but I won't wear it that way regardless); I'm generally a UK12-14 depending on cut.
I purchased the Bellamy in the blue and white stripe after sadly missing out on last year's terracotta coloured Bellamy that I still dream about (aaaalas). So! I decided to purchase a UK 14 which is my typical size (US 10) despite some reviews suggesting to go down as I need the 14 for my hips (but am generally a UK12-14 on top). I have narrow shoulders, a relatively large bust, narrow waist and big hips. So - first impressions; the fabric, beautiful - great weight, almost a linen-feel cotton. Wonderful for summer. The fit - leaves much to be desired. The waist fits well as do the hips through the legs, however, I cannot keep the straps up on this (they just fall down within a minute so they are mid bicep); very sad. I've been hemming and hawing over whether to just return (but I'm in Germany and this is expensive) but I've been experimenting with safety pins to try and shorten the sleeves, and I think this will be a good workaround once I can find a seamstress... But I will say this - for all the short-torsoed folks out there, this is the right jumpsuit for you. No drop crotch. I don't find the zipper in the back that fiddly, but I really dislike the clasp (way too challenging) and I probably won't use it.
A classic for a reason… I have so many pairs of original cords and finally caved for a black pair. Love the prints but the black are becoming a favourite. I size up on the length and roll them up
