My first time buying originals (so have no idea how these compare to the old sizing), but they fit so well and are super comfy! I'm 5'7 and went with regular length, but would probably go for a long when purchasing next time to give me more space to roll the legs up. I'm a pretty solid 14 (wear a 14 in Eastons, M in Atlas and 32-34" waist in their trousers) and got a 14 in these.
Ok so I am a UK 30/32 with a big belly, big thighs, big bum. I am not shaped like an average “plus-sized” WW, so it’s really hard to wear dungarees, even trousers in general. We don’t have the same options here in the UK as the States do. So I was super hesitant to try these out when they released their new sizing. Loads of brands are extending their sizing but it’s always an hourglass plus sized figure, not for fat people. I bought these just to see because the models seemed true to size (even tho no one is above a 26 but I digress). I bought a UK32R and when I tell you I cried from happiness. They are oversized and truth be told if I wanted a fitted size I could have done a UK30R, but I like mine loose and tapered and so I can fit my biggest jumper. I don’t have a camel toe, they fit over my belly over my boobs and I can sit and stretch and jump and it’s amazing. Plus I never get corduroy anything because they hardly ever make it in my size. I know some people are iffy with the new sizing who have always been customers but as someone who is a super fat, I am so pleased. Straight size people can get their clothes from anywhere, I cannot. I now have a place I can buy dungarees from that I know will fit and be cute. My husband took a picture of me and for the first time in awhile I felt CUTE because I was comfortable as all hell. So for those who are not straight sized, not hourglass plus sized, and are just fat lil potatoes, these are the ones for you. They are stretchy and comfy and make you feel so great! The one thing that I would add is I would love to see L&Y go to a 40 and beyond and include infinifats. I think it’s great the new sizing and I only hope to see the sizes expand (especially the fleeces as they are straight sized only and us super and infini fats would love some good fleeces). Thanks so much for these dungarees and I can’t wait to buy more!!
I will start by saying I love Lucy and Yak dungarees - I own 6 pairs. This is the first pair I bought since the new sizing. It’s just a bit off. Not as flattering around the middle as they used to be and the bib is narrower…boobs appearing around the sides isn’t a great look. The fabric is fab and I love the colour. I really wanted to love them as much as my others….but I just don’t.
