'Organic Alexa' Twill Cotton High waisted trousers in Midnight Black by Lucy & Yak
We've revampted our Lucy & Yak unique high waisted trouser design with a new fabric that is perfect for the colder months, but still fully breathable. We still wanted to keep the fabulous big hips shape and mom style fit, with our super comfy and versitile elasticated waist. I couldn't be happier with the finished design, I plan to live in them all winter!
We've used twill which is 100% organic cotton. Twill is a beautiful fabric thats getting close to denim in terms of strength, but its far softer and not quite as heavy, but keeps a nice structured shape. We always try to make clothes that can be worn in any season, which is difficult but I think we managed it again with 'Alexa'
She's fully handmade by Ishmail and the team, with side pockets and belt loops. Designed to flatter any body type.

I bought these for work but wasn't sure if I could pull them off. After wearing them a few times, I now love them and can't help spontaneously singing "Can't touch this" every time I wear them. However, they did rub between my legs the first time I wore them. I've washed them since and they seem softer so I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.
I didn't think these pants would look good on me. I'm a petite size 8, small everything. They are absolutely massive (I would buy an xs if it was available) and sometimes I think I look ridiculous. But they are unbelievably comfy and ethically made which is mandatory for me now. I am definitely keeping these beauties! Jeans now feel tight and restrictive. Maybe it's the "I've had a baby and my body has changed" factor, but I want more. On the strength of these I have also purchased the 'Laurie' checked trousers.
The only annoying factor with these pants is they are cold in temperatures below 20 degrees C. If I put leggings or tights on underneath the fabric grips to it, they don't hang well and it's uncomfortable around the upper thigh area. Would love to hear what others are layering them with successfully!
Such a great, flattering fit - esp for plus size. Comfy, my favourite go to trousers. Only issue is they got worn quite quickly by the crotch (I do wear them a lot), and they ripped so had to order another after having this pair for only 3-4 months :(
The fabric feels good and in general the pants are really comfy, sadly the fabric already rip on one pocket and I have the feeling that the fan I between the legs will get hole, but that’s a problem with “thick thighs”.
Thoughtfully produced, priced, and packaged. You're leading the way Lucy & Yak! Trousers are RIGHT comfy. Look great with a waist belt and crop top of some sort. My mum and I both got the same pair. I'm in my 20's, she's in her 60's, and they look great on us both worn in slightly different ways and of course at different times :)
