I bought these instore in Brighton and have only worn them 3 times and they are already starting to wear away at the back. I love chucks but the quality of these ones aren’t great unfortunately
Hey Emily, Oh no! This doesn't sound right. We've popped you an email to get some more information and get this resolved for you. All the best, Lucy and Yak HQ
These are now my new fav pants from Lucy & yak. They are so big and flowy and make your waist look small when you tie the drawstrings. Wore these with a tank top on a humid day and was stayed cool cause of the fabric. Sizing is very generous so maybe go down 1 size. I live for a big pant little shirt moment tho, so I got my true size of a Large. I am a US 12-14 pant. 32" waist, 45" hips. Please make more colors I need MORE!
Love the Jennys and the denim
Is so soft . I did have to size up from usual 14 to a 16 as very narrow on hips .. still fit well though 🙂
I am already a huge fan of L&Y belts, and absolutely adore my Leo one, but this one is just as wow...and maybe a bit more wow! The Cupid belt is double sided! Pattern on both sides- yes please! It's as perfect and easy to wear and style as all of the others....but I'll say and celebrate it again...double sided! Get involved! ¨̮
I was undecided about getting these dungarees as I got the “Original” Sunflowers (just sunflowers in a black background) which I bought in 2019. Having lost quite a lot of weight my old ones were just way too big so I sold them on and got these new ones. I opted for long ones this time as some of the bibs are a bit short on my long body. I’m delighted with the dungarees, gorgeous soft cotton and pretty pattern. I am looking forward to wearing these soon.
I love everything about them, but as an international customer I would presume that fit is consistent within the same style. These are 3 inches different than my linen pair. I'll have to exchange.
So comfortable and I love that the company is inclusive!
Gorgeous quality, fabric and design. Cut just a bit too snug on the hips to fit into my usual size so had to return.
The cut, the style, the fit, everything is perfect! I’m not exaggerating when I say these are the best pants I’ve ever purchased. Make sure you look up your correct size and if you wanna looser fit on your hips size up. I wear a size 16/18 dress in US and ordered size 40. They sit perfectly on my hips without being too tight and create an amazing silhouette💕🙂↔️
I really loved these the first time I wore them, but after a couple wears and only one or two washes there is some serious pilling and fabric thinning in the thighs. I'm not sure that the fabric will hold up much longer if I keep wearing them. The pilling in the thighs has also caused me so much irritation that I have a painful rash :( this style is super cute and I prefer a lightweight fabric to the older fabric which was really thick, but I think these are just too thin and flimsy unfortunately.
These are super comfy and I do enjoy wearing them! I’m a US 16 so I bought a large. The ONLY thing that bothers me is that they’re so baggy, but upper thighs touch because the fabric hangs so low. I’m afraid this might lead to chaffing. I might have them altered to adjust the crotch so that my thighs don’t touch. Maybe a Medium would solve this problem, but I wouldn’t want the waistband to be too tight as the Large waistband fits nicely.
My other Jennys in a size 20 are super baggy now, so I sized down in these to an 18, thinking it would be fine. Unfortunately they are pretty tight, big difference for one size ! Kept them as I’m loosing weight at the min, but much smaller fit for sure
I got this top in an M (I sit between size 10 & 12), and it was perfect. I’m not very busty and it wasn’t hanging off at all. First time wearing it was on a hike and the top was so comfy and breathable even in really high temperatures. I love how stretchy it is too. So happy I got it :)
Got these for a holiday and summer however the fabric between the thighs is already wearing away after wearing them once which i’m gutted about as I love them so much
As always I love Drew jeans, I feel like they’re the only Lucy & Yak trousers that fit me perfectly! I’m 5’3 and usually a 4-6 on trousers so W24 is perfect for me even on the legs.
These ones feel slightly looser on the waist compared to previous ones so I don’t know if it’s just the fabric.
The embroidery also rubs against the legs so for people with sensory issues they might be a bit too much!
This skirt probably upped my coolness factor a lot, lol. For reference, I'm a size 14 and got the medium, which is the perfect size for me. The material is light and airy, non-scratchy.
The only issue I had with the skirt was after I washed and dried it according to the instructions it wasn't as flowy anymore and rather form fitting. After asking in-store, I decided to lightly (!) iron it on low heat and high steam to lengthen and widen it again. I'm happy to report it worked without damaging the skirt!
I love this shirt! The sleeves, the print, the length are right up my alley!
I was a little unsure about the size and stuck to my usual M, which is fine, just rather wide in the body. I ordered a size Small as well and it's still roomy but a little more fitted, so depending on what you prefer, maybe size down.
The shirt is nice and soft, though I did notice it takes on lint through friction fairly easily.
I'm in love with these pants! I got them in-store in the orange color first and had to order this one as soon as I saw it! The color is lovely, as is the material. For reference, I'm a size 14 and got the medium. They're nice and roomy in the hip, butt and thigh area and the drawstring paired with the elastic waistband make it easy to adjust the waist to your needs.
I can wholeheartedly recommend them and I'm sure they'll be on rotation this summer with my linen pants!
I'm in love with the material of this skirt! It's super soft and lightweight without being see-through (as far as I can tell). It sits in my natural waist and goes down a little past my ankles, making it a true maxi (I'm 1,68m tall for reference). It's also refreshing to have a maxi without a slit.
Please note, though, that the waistband in size medium is a little tighter (I'm a 14) than on the Chuck pants in medium, for example. If you're sensitive about this, it might be a good idea to size up and make use of the drawstring in the waist.
I've been wanting this cardigan for over a year now, and I'm so happy it was brought back!
I'm a 10-12, so inbetween sizes, and instead of sizing down (like most people seem to do) I opted for the bigger size, that being a Medium. I'm super happy I did, as I find it perfectly oversized and slouchy in a really cute way, which is exactly what I wanted. Shoutout to the customer happiness team for providing measurements, which really helped me narrow down which size to get!
I did have some issues with a couple of threads though. For example, there was a piece of a thread/stitch that had been partially cut and was sticking out, but thankfully not fully severed (so not unravelling). I did my best to secure it and I'm hoping it won't cause issues in the future.
There was also some thin elastic thread, completely severed, that was sticking out in the middle of one of the cuffs, and two areas (also on the cuffs) where the same kind of elastic thread was sticking out in a loop (not severed). It's a bit difficult to explain, but I was able to sort these out as well. Again, hoping my mending holds up and that it won't cause issues in the future.
Although it's not ideal to need to mend a brand new garment, they were overall fairly minor issues, and I'm hoping they stay that way. Not washed it yet, but I imagine it'll do best in a laundry bag or pillowcase. Also, not entirely sure why there are elastic threads, as it's supposed to be made of 100% cotton. Unsure if they're just in the cuffs, or the entire cardigan.
Sadly, as an international customer, this will probably be the last time I purchase the Addison style, as much as I love them. This colour in particular is so pretty, and the photos are very accurate to how it looks in real life.
I had sort of given up on the Addison already, and skipped a few other gorgeous colours/prints (including the lovely Tan Zi Xi ones), but figured I'd give them a go again with the 3 for 2 sale.
When they fit, they're incredibly flattering and comfy (the elastic bits are a really nice touch). The issue is none of the pairs I've purchased over the past year fit the same, even though they've all been the same size (W28R/L).
Main issue is usually the waist size (some are too big, sometimes almost a full size too big), but they've also had different rises, and now this most recent pair has smaller hips ontop of the waist being too big.
At this point I'm not sure which of the pairs has the intended fit/size. Maybe the pairs that fit me well are the anomalies? Or maybe I've just been unlucky with the most recent pairs I've received?
Given that I purchased these during the 3 for 2 sale, and international customers can't do exchanges, there's no easy way to exchange them for another pair (in the same size) in the hopes that they'll fit better either. To be honest though, even if there was, it's kind of riddiculous to exchange for the exact same size and hope the new ones will fit better.
It's such a shame, especially as these are the only jeans/trousers left that are aimed towards bigger waist to hip ratios. The old fit Dana was great too, but they're of course not around anymore, and the new fit doesn't work if you're pear shaped as the hips are much narrower. I'm guessing there's some difficulty in constructing trousers with a bigger waist to hip ratio, which might also be why the Dana was reworked.
I'd strongly recommend trying these on in a store if you can, and if one pair in your size doesn't fit, check if there's another in the same size. They will most likely fit differently.
Unfortunately, it'll be a bit of a gamble if you're international/purchase online, but on the plus side the customer happiness team is always very helpful whenever there are any issues. It's just up to whether you can be bothered with the potential extra hassle/return cost.
Ultimately, I just wish the fit was more consistent.
Hi there,
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and honest review - we really appreciate it, and we're genuinely sorry to hear about your ongoing experience with the fit of the Addison trousers.
Your feedback around sizing variance is incredibly valuable, and we’re actively passing this on to our product and design team. We’re always working on improving consistency, especially in our core pieces - and hearing real-life fit experiences like yours helps guide that.
We know how disappointing it can be to skip out on beautiful pieces you love because of uncertainty, and we're so sorry it's come to that. If you do decide to give the Addison another go in future, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Customer Happiness Team with your measurements - we’ll do our best to help you find the pair most likely to work for you!
Thank you again for all your support and for your kind words about the team. We appreciate you!
All the best,
Lucy & Yak
This skirt is so lovely! Happy to see it restocked.
I found the sizing a bit strange, but I'm very sensitive to any pressure on my waist, so this might not be an issue for most people. I'm a pear shaped 10-12, wear S in Alexa, and M in most other bottoms (Brie, Jamie, etc). After asking the customer happiness team for measurements I ended up going with L for the Esme, because I was worried the M might apply too much pressure on my waist, and I didn't want to have to deal with returns as an international customer.
The L is a bit too big on the waist, but it's not really an issue as it has a drawstring, so it can be tied to prevent it from falling down. Even if I don't tie it it just sits a bit lower (on my hips) instead of on my natural waist. Definitely need to tie it though if I put anything heavy in the (generous!) pockets.
Compared to the Brie in M, the waist is only a bit bigger. It's much lighter though, and very easy to move in despite being full length with no slits. I'm able to take regular strides and my movement isn't restricted.
It did arrive very creased, but after washing and giving it a good shake all of them are gone, no ironing needed. I washed it according to the instructions and it came out with no discernible difference in size.
One minor nitpick is that the hem is a bit rippled/puckered in places, but it's not really too noticable and doesn't seem to affect how the skirt fits/falls. I imagine they could be ironed out, or at least improved somewhat. On the plus side it doesn't seem to attract a lot of fluff/lint.
Overall I'm very happy, and highly recommend this if you're looking for a lightweight maxi skirt.
These are gorgeous. Very lightweight and I imagine wonderful in warm weather. I had to send them back as a little too big. I’m very tempted to reorder but do wonder how long they may last as they are thin. I tried them on obviously before seeing they were too big. Incredibly comfortable. Soft and actually amazing. I’d have kept them and taken the chance on seeing how long they lasted.
